This character of Hanuman is inspired by the Ramayana epic and reimagined from one of my earlier Hanuman illustrations. This piece is both a personal tribute to the Ramayana and an exploration of bringing ancient art into detailed 3D character done during spare time. This project also marks my first exploration using XGen for character fur grooming. The base model and rigging were done in Maya, normal and displacement details sculpted in Blender. Texturing was completed in Substance Painter and Photoshop and final render done using Arnold renderer.
